Student diploma project

Start checking in with a smart wristband.

Ping Pass connects NFC wristbands, a small device, and a web dashboard to track attendance and give points to students automatically.

Tap your wristband on the NFC reader. The system records your visit and updates your points instantly.

What happens when you tap?
  • The NFC reader reads the unique tag ID in your wristband.
  • The device sends the ID and time to the Ping Pass website.
  • The website links the scan to your account and adds points.
Dashboards refresh when a new scan is received.
For students
One wristband, full history

Students log in to see their points, last visits, and which events they actually attended – all connected to their wristband ID.

For organizers
Attendance without paper

Organizers get a clean digital list of attendees for each event, ready for reports, certificates, and statistics.

For the project
Hardware + web together

Ping Pass combines an NFC reader, microcontroller, and PHP–MySQL website to show a full end-to-end system in a diploma project.

How Ping Pass works

A quick overview of the full journey of one scan.

1
Tap the wristband

Each wristband has a unique NFC tag ID. When you tap the reader, it captures this ID instantly.

2
Device sends the scan

The microcontroller sends an HTTP request to the Ping Pass server with the tag ID and timestamp.

3
Website saves attendance

The website finds the user linked to this tag and saves the visit in the database, adding points to the balance.

4
Dashboards show results

Students and organizers can see live attendance and points from their own dashboards.
